Sisters in Science

Marie Curie, Bronia Dluska, and the Atomic Power of Sisterhood

Written by Linda Elovitz Marshall, Illustrated by Anna and Elena Balbusso

Sisters in Science is a brilliant picture book biography about polish sisters Marie Curie and Bronia Dluska. It tells the story of their scientific accomplishments through the lens of sisterhood. It was amazing to learn that they attended a secret university at home that moved around to avoid detection. Later, they made a pact to take turns attending the Sorbonne in Paris while supporting each other financially to make it happen. The illustrations are breathtaking and incorporate scientific elements like atomic structures. Great tie-ins to science, sisterhood, and perseverance. I highly recommend this book.
