If there can be only one word to describe this book it would be “inclusivity.” This is a joyous book that spotlights holidays celebrated by diverse cultures throughout the world. Each festively illustrated spread introduces a child who explains the holiday they celebrate. There is also a question posed to the reader as each page is turned, such as:
- “How do your holidays invite others to celebrate together?”
- “How do you decorate for the holidays?”
- “What values are uplifted on your holidays?”
The book ends with an invite for all to join in these celebrations by spending time with people they love. Included is a glossary explaining each holiday. Wonderful compilation of holidays we do not see as often in picture books. I would highly recommend this for school and home libraries.
