Mango Memories

Written by Sita Singh, Illustrated by Nabi H. Ali

This delightful picture book takes you to India, where you feel like you’re picking mangos up in a tree. Beti is with her family at the mango tree where they gather to harvest mangos. Her older brother, grandma, mom, and dad all have their own mango memories. Beti feels like she’s not really contributing to the mango picking and gets frustrated. But in the end she creates her own mango memory. The illustrations are great. The font is so-so. But the story is great. It gives you a nostalgic feeling of family and tradition. I’d recommend this for grades K-3.
