Noura’s Crescent Moon

Written by Zainab Khan, Illustrated by Habila Adani

Join Noura on the last night of Ramadan as she goes with her mom and dad to try to spot the rare Eid crescent moon. This story is rich in Muslim culture and depicts traditions of food, henna, and Ramadan. The illustrations are pretty. Don’t read on an empty stomach! As you read about pakoras, chutney, and gulab jamun dumplings, you’ll wish you could join their picnic on the grassy hillside as they look for the moon. I’d recommend for grades 1-4.
