Winnie Zeng Shatters the Universe

Written by Katie Zhao

Winnie is at it again. She was looking forward to doing nothing over Christmas vacation, suddenly she is invited to a Shaman Youth Tournament. She would love to win the tournament! With Lao Lao in her corner she hopes to win. Unfortunately, her parents say she can’t go. She doesn’t understand…her parents think she was invited to a Junior Scholars Championship. They are all about education but are worried about her safety. When they find out that her friend David (who helped defeat evil being’s during an earlier attack on Groton and then on Halloween) is going to be there as well, they allow her to go. When she gets to the tournament, she loses some of her confidence. The Shamans here are powerful. Can she win the tournament? With Lao Lao’s help, she wins the first two battles but starts to realize that something is wrong. She feels as if there is a problem with the teachers as well as the Shaman. In the end, she, Kelly, David, Eric and Maggie have to work with the four powerful gods that represent the good/light side of Chi to defeat evil again. She goes home to Groton to the family she has been missing and with a new friendship with David.
