Painting the Game

Written by Patricia MacLachlan

Painting the Game is a cute story of an eleven year old girl who wants to be a pitcher just like her Dad. She’s afraid she won’t be as good as him, but she decides she’s going to spend extra time working on it. She has a loving family and some great friends that support her. The story is told from Lucy’s perspective and it is an accessible read for young readers starting to read chapter books. This book could be added to a display of books about sports. With a girl as a main character in a sports book, it could fill a need in a library for girls who like books about sports.
