She’s also well-versed at using her imagination to get herself out of a tricky situation. This is an especially good thing when finding a best friend at school proves trickier than expected!
In addition to its charming, relatable protagonist, the book boasts one of the nicest aesthetic presentations of font and text placement I’ve ever encountered for a new reader. It is boosted with ample white space and comic-styled illustrations. This adorable book is the opener to the early chapter series based on the author’s own Chinese American family. I will be adding this copy to our school library and looking forward to the next book in the series.
