The Mystery of Locked Rooms

Written by Lindsay Currie

Seventh grader Sarah and her friends, West and Hannah, love solving Escape Rooms. Their different skill sets make them a formidable team. The stakes get higher when Sarah’s family receives a foreclosure notice, due to her dad’s illness putting him out of work. The trio is motivated to break into an abandoned 1950s funhouse in an attempt to discover a treasure rumored to be long-hidden within. The story is fresh, clever, funny, and a little spooky.

Fans of the Mr. Lemoncello’s Library series will enjoy this book. Considering the bulk of the book takes place in one building (albeit a variety of exciting rooms in the building), the story never feels bogged down.

We are considering including this as one of our Battle of the Book selections for next year.
