Tiny Jenny: Little Fairy, Big Trouble

Written and Illustrated by Briony May Smith

Tiny Jenny is a wingless fairy that is born into a family of wrens. She is accepted and loved by her adoptive feathered family. One day, she overhears the woodland neighbors complaining about the mischief she causes. She scurries away deeper into the woods and discovers a community of fairies. Hoping to have found her true family, she tries to fit in. She soon realizes that her real home is with her adoptive feathered friends. The story does not convince me as the title eludes that she causes big trouble. It doesn’t take much to fall in love and cheer on this wee fairy with a lot of spunk.

The illustrations are so detailed and beautiful. I could not put this book down as I became lost in the lush woodland scenes. I look forward to adding this book to our library collection and I know my fairy loving students will love it too.
