Best in Show is a picture book of poems about dogs. There are 18 poems, each one featuring a different breed of dog, including Bulldogs, St. Bernards, and Chihuahuas.

In so many hearts you’re number one!
Agile! High-spirited! Obedient! Fun!
You hunt. You fish. You search and find.
You cheer the old. You guide the blind.
Along with each poem there is a paragraph with interesting facts about that specific dog breed. Additionally, each poem is illustrated by a different illustrator, all who love dogs. The unique and fun illustrations were by far my favorite part of the book. The inside covers give a few fun facts about the different parts of a dog. And at the end of the book each of the illustrators is featured along with a picture of their own dog. This book is engaging and and a great addition to the poetry section of your library!
