This is an adorable story about finding the courage to go for something you want, even if it is hard and out of reach. The gentle words of encouragement from the mama bear to her cub are reassuring and uplifting as he is working through the difficulties and fears of trying to climb a tree to get the plum that he really wants. It is also a great reminder that even thought things are not easy, in the end there may be a sweet reward to not giving up. The pictures are charming. All around it is a great book to share with my students here in my elementary library.
