Written by Naila Moreira
Sammie calls it “The Field.” It is her favorite place to escape everyone else and be alone with the animals, bugs, and birds. She isn’t really a people person and truly loves being here by herself enjoying nature. Suddenly, there is another person there, a boy name Bram who moved here from Seattle. She tries to brush him off, but he loves the field as much as she does. They become friends and spend the entire summer in the field doing research. When they discover a backhanded deal with a developer and the mayor to build homes on the property, it takes her, Bram, and other friends to save the Monarch Butterflies in their natural habitat. There is a lot of information about the different animals, insects, and birds in this book.
