When wishes were Horses

Written by Cynthia Voigt

What would you wish for if you were given two wishes? That is what happens to four different kids in this story. Their wishes range from Lego sets to Unicorns. The one thing they all learn is that you can wish for something, but wishes have consequences and you do not get to choose the consequence. I was a fan of Cynthia Voigt when I was younger so I was excited to read this book. She has a talent for not dodging uncomfortable situations in her stories and this story is the same. One of the kids wishes for her parents to stop fighting all of the time. There are four short stories with different kids and their wishes. Some of the stories I enjoyed more than others. Some of them I felt left you hanging and you are not sure how they turned out. It is a quick, easy read for someone in the older elementary grades and middle school.
