The Cookie Crumbles

Written by Tracy Badua & Alechia Dow

Laila and Lucy are the best of friends. Laila loves to bake and has been in a few different cooking competitions. She won the last one and wants to compete again. Lucy is going to be a reporter, and she is going to be amazing. She just knows that journalism is her future. Both girls decide that Laila needs to enter The Golden Cookie Competition at Sutherland School. Laila can’t afford the tuition, so the scholarship given to the winner is just what she needs. Sutherland School is a prestigious school that both girls want to attend together. Lucy will be the reporter for the competition and Laila will of course win. Chef Remi, (not a nice man), Chef Polly, (sticky sweet) and Noah are the grownups/judges for the competition. When Chef Remi takes a bite of Laila’s cookie, he collapses and is rushed to the hospital. The drama starts there. Everyone is blaming each other and especially Laila. Laila and Lucy decide to solve the mystery and save Laila’s chance at a scholarship. In the end, Chef Remi is going to be ok, and the bad guy is found out. Really cute book for our kiddos who like mysteries.
