Free to Be Fabulous

Written by David McMullin, Illustrated by Robbie Cathro

This is a quick story about a student who has a favorite musician. When he joins the school talent show, he has inner turmoil, The Mean, and feelings about what others will say or think of his performance. Throughout the book he shares his dance moves, his joy, and his passion for the music from Fabulina. The themes include accepting yourself, not listening to negative thoughts from others or yourself, and being authentic in your actions. I found the illustrations beautiful and vibrant, while only adding more detail to the story.
