Dive, Dive into the Night Sea

This book is so cool! We get to follow a scuba diver going down deep into the night sea where we see the animals and plants and how different they behave while the sun’s down. The illustrations are pencil drawings in dark shades of gray with touches of yellows, and they’re really beautiful. Kids will love that the book opens top to bottom and there are a couple little flaps to lift up and look under. It’s hard to describe because this book is so unique. The text has two levels; there are large print easier to read words, and then then smaller, more advanced explanations too. So, the book will work well for the youngest kids but also hold the attention of older readers. I’m excited to read this out loud to classes. It’s so nice to find a non-fiction book that is sure to engage students.
