Written by Elizabeth MacLeod, Illustrated by Sydney Smith
I found Canada Year By Year to be a fascinating history of our northern neighbors. Each page discusses an important figure or event that has greatly influenced the history of a 150-year-old nation. This book starts with describing the importance of Confederation uniting the four provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Important figures such as Sir John A. MacDonald, Leonora H. King, and artist Emily Carr are discussed also, as influential figures in the making of the nation of Canada.
