I love a good mystery, so when I saw this book, I had to give it a read…and I wasn’t disappointed. Toby’s parents have disappeared and are presumed dead. He is bounced from house to house until he comes to his Uncle Gabriel’s home. His uncle is a detective and lives on detective row. Unfortunately, Hugh Abernathy, the most famous detective of all, also lives on the street and takes all the business. If Uncle Gabriel doesn’t make some money soon, Toby worries he’ll be thrown into an orphanage, and he’ll do anything to escape that fate…even join a contest to be the World’s Greatest Detective. Can Toby win the contest, avoid the orphanage, learn the truth about his parents, and escape even death itself? You’ll have to read this fun, clever book to find out.
