James and Danny are friends. Every day after school they stop by Mr. Wright’s grocery store and look at the gumball machine. For a quarter you can get six gumballs. Sometimes a prize, like a ring, comes out as well. The boys have been watching the gumball machine for weeks because they both want a toy racer that is almost to the bottom of the machine. James get his five quarters allowance and they head to the store. They each take turns putting in their quarter and hoping they will be the one that gets the racer.
