Written and Illustrated by Angela Dominguez
In this adventure, Stella Díaz is excited to go to summer camp, and the fact that it is a marine camp makes it more exciting! However, what could be more thrilling than a summer camp? Stella’s mom has a surprise… a vacation to Mexico! Stella has not been to Mexico since she was four years old, and this news is just as wonderful as going to summer camp. Stella and her love of sea life is once again the center stage for this adventure. Stella learns that some animals are compromised by things humans do, eating utensils, grocery bags, or simply taking a stroll on the beach not looking for that hidden (or not so hidden) nest of sea turtle eggs. Her love of sea life and the dangers they face help her come out of her shell, and form a saving-the-ocean club the Sea Musketeers. Stella and the Sea Musketeers meet and practice good habits that will save the earth and sea life, by using reusable eating utensils and making reusable shopping bags, and a beach clean-up. Stella and her friends also have bake sells to raise money for their cause. Once again Angela Dominguez gives us characters to respect and an adventure to remember.
