No Buddy Like a Book

Written by Allan Wolf, Illustrated by Brianne Farley

I read this book to a group of first graders and it led us into a great discussion about how books can help us use our imagination to “travel” to other places. The illustrations in this book are full of color and details, making it easy for small children (and big children!) to imagine being in all kinds of places around the world. I would highly recommend this book for kids and adults of all ages, as it reminds us of why we wanted to learn to read in the first place, and that reading is the original “great escape” for our minds. Loved this book!
