After dealing with the aftermath of the Andie Bell and Sal Singh cases, Pip decided to give up her crime-solving days. That soon changes when Jamie Reynolds goes missing. When the police refuse to do anything about it, Jamie’s brother Connor hires Pip to look into it. Looking into Jamie’s internet search history, she discovers a much darker reason for his disappearance. As she also continues to deal with a case involving a killer rapist, her past keeps coming back to haunt her. Will she find Jamie? What really happened to him? Will she be able to put her past behind her?

The book is well-written. The characters are engaging and believable. The plot has lots of twists and turns and draws the reader into the story. The narrative is complex and intriguing. Readers who have enjoyed the other books in the series will want to pick this one up. Recommended for most library collections.
