From a young age Sarah McBride new that she wanted to help people in her own community. She wished that one day she could work in Washington, D.C. and help others facing difficulty with not being their true selves. She was elected in 2020 to the Delaware State Senate. To this day, Sarah fights for the rights of transgender people and the LGBTQ+ community.
