Emma Jones, a sophomore at Burtonwood Academy, a school for “sight-gifted” students, is dismayed when she receives her designation as a fairy-slayer, instead of what she expected and hoped— the desirable dragon-slayer. She is humiliated and embarrassed and her classmates tease her relentlessly. Her handsome male classmate, Curtis Green, whom all the girls adore, ended up with the coveted dragon-slayer assignment. Emma and Curtis end up working together, however, to slay a particularly nasty fairy, who unlike most 10-inch tall fairies, happens to be 7-feet tall. This diabolical fairy, Darkhel, is planning for the destruction of the magical gate that keeps all evil forces out of the world. The pair becomes harmlessly romantically attached as they work to save the world. The book starts a little slow, but then the pace and the humor picks up making this an enjoyable book to read.

I like that this book is about Dragons and Fairies instead of Vampires and Werewolves! Sounds like a fun story!
Or Zombies! I am sick to death (no pun intended) of zombies and vampires. Fairies sound good for a change. I did read the Wicked Lovely book about Fairies, and it was pretty good. I just couldn’t stop wondering where parental guardians were. Too much happening without supervision!
