Written and Illustrated by Rachel Ignotofsky
What’s Inside a Bird’s Nest? is the latest title in Rachel Ignotofsky’s What’s Inside series. This book is packed with fascinating information about birds delivered through minimal text that will engage young readers. As with the other books in this series Rachel Ignotofsky’s distinctive art steals the show. Those colors, diagrams, and baby bird faces! But don’t discount the text. which is immensely readable and breaks down vocabulary like: incubation, fledgling, and migration. Touched with a sense of humor, this informational book will answer questions about birds, their life cycles, and convince children that birding is more than a middle-aged pastime.
I highly recommend this book and two previous books in this series, What’s Inside a Flower? and What’s Inside a Caterpillar Cocoon?
