Great Gusts

Winds of the World and the Science Behind Them

Written by Melanie Crowder and Megan Benedict, Illustrated by Khoa Le

This a fun way to learn about wind. It is a well thought out book. It describes different winds around the world through poetry and has a caption with a deeper explanation for each poem. Then there is a map at the end to show where each of the winds happen in the world and some more information about the basics of wind in the back. The pictures are pretty good. I think it could be placed in the 811 poetry section or the 551.5 section about weather. It could fit in either section very well.
