Hoop Queens 2 is a wonderfully unique book of basketball related poetry. This book would be a great addition to any library for a few reasons:
This book highlights some of the top WNBA players, with unique poems about each of their skills. At the end of the book there is an author note for each poem, explaining more about each poem and each player. Young basketball-loving girls would love to learn more about their favorite players.
This book uses poetry to describe these amazing players. I love that each poem is completely unique. Any student with an interest in poetry would love seeing all the different kinds of poems as well as learning that poetry can be about things they love.
The pictures are of the real athletes and surrounded by vibrant colors. They are eye catching and fun.
I’m excited to add this book to the sports section in the library for all of our basketball loving students!
