Written by C.J. Hill
This is an action-packed thriller about dragons and dragon slayers that takes place in the present time, not the usual medieval story. The dragon eggs have been programmed to hatch during this time. A group of teenagers whose mothers were inadvertantly exposed to the eggs have had unique dragon-slayer abilities awakened in them through this exposure. At a special camp they are being trained in skills to fight the dragons when they do finally hatch. Tori is a wealthy, pampered teenager who is attracted to the camp because of her love of dragon-lore. She adds a bit of humor and romance to the tale. This was a great read. The book suggests the author’s name is a pseudonym, leaving me wondering who she really is.

I was curious about this when we first received this book, so I poked around the C.J. Hill blog a little bit and there seems to be pretty good evidence that C.J. Hill is Janette Rallison, author of My Fair Godmother and other titles with covers designed to appeal to a more girlish audience than this book. So, starting with a fresh name and image is maybe a good idea for these new books she is writing?
I like the idea of something new! Haven’t read too many dragon books before!
