Follow Lorraine, Clara, Gloria, and Vera in the second installment of the Flappers series. Each girl’s fate and previous encounters with the Mob land them in New York City during the 1920s. Clara has a boyfriend for the summer promising to change her ways. Gloria and Jerome have fled to avoid the Mob, the Police, and murder charges. Lorraine is planning revenge. In addition a murderer is on the loose and Vera plans to find her brother Jerome and warn him that his life is in danger. This introduction to the 1920s would be a great companion novel for those reading The Great Gatsby. The author has done a great job weaving in historical elements such as prohibition, the flapper life style, speakeasys, Louis Armstrong, jazz, and many other elements. This is a fun read and the content is appropriate for grades 7+.
