This was a good book to read. Unfortunately, every time I pick up a book about a dog I know there is going to be at least one human being who doesn’t treat the animal well. That being said, of course that happened. This book begins with Ginger, a golden retriever, being born in a puppy mill. She is then adopted by a family that doesn’t deserve her and from there her story continues on with some good fortune and some bad fortune. I love how the author added in really good information about the correct care of animals in real life.
