Having disliked green beans when I was young, this book hit home. I never had to rescue my parents from the mean green bean mob, but I did learn to eat green beans eventually. This is a superb imaginative story most kids will identify with and the marvelous illustrations will pull them in. Every young reader will completely enjoy reading about Martha and how she saved her parents from the green beans.
