If you are interested in learning all you need to know before getting a pet Hamster, then this is the book for you. Perfect non-fiction for elementary age kids K-3, but I think even the 4th-6th graders might like it too. It is SO CUTE with adorable illustrations and real-life photos as well. It walks the reader through the basics of choosing your hamster to everything you’ll need before you bring it home. It teaches about what it is like to have a hamster by describing their natural behavior and the cleaning and care the pet owner will need to do. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book and the rest of the series, and ordered them for our library! (Bunny’s Guide to Caring for Your Rabbit, Goldie’s Guide to Caring for Your Goldfish, Kitty’s Guide to Caring for Your Cat, Ruff’s Guide to Caring for Your Dog, and Winnie’s Guide to Caring for Your Horse or Pony.)
