from the Ordinary People Change the World Series
Written by Brad Meltzer, Illustrated by Christopher Eliopoulos
Abraham Lincoln has never been more interesting to young readers and cute! Seriously, I am Abraham Lincoln looks at the life of one of your greatest presidents but he stays a child throughout dressed as Lincoln down to the stove pipe hat and beard (with a string.) The story is told by Lincoln in easy to understand sentences and children will learn the values that made Lincoln great such as standing up for what is right and using your voice, honesty and determination. And we learn how much Lincoln loved books and reading. The illustrations are perfect and bold. I really liked the narrative style and having Lincoln stay a child throughout the book. This is a biography young readers will love. There are two others in this series, Ordinary People Change the World, I am Amelia Earhart and I am Rosa Parks. I love this amazing series.
