Dinkin Dings is afraid of everything, except for two ghouls that live under his bed. One day as he is looking in the mirror his double from Dimension 9 comes through. The double’s name is Danger Dings and is the exact opposite in temperament than Dinkin. Danger is always in trouble and since everyone thinks that Danger is actually Dinkin there is a lot of trouble stirred up. Danger’s three ghouls end up coming through the mirror and they are actually frightening compared to Dinkin’s ghouls. Dinkin figures out a way to make the ghouls less frightening so that Danger will want to return to his own dimension. As an adult I had questions about different plot elements but as my elementary age daughter says, it is perfect for kids. It was a cute book and I think reluctant readers will enjoy the format of the book and the cute illustrations of Dinkin being scared all the time.
