Artie and his Uncle Chester have something special in common — they are both the youngest of their generation. Living in Chinatown, nearly every holiday is spent with extended family. The only problem is that Artie is constantly being teased by his cousins and told he is a baby. In an effort to prove he’s not, Artie promises firecrackers for everyone at the Chinese New Year. With the help of his Uncle Chester, will Artie be able to make good on his promise? This quick read is set in San Francisco during the 1950s. It is a wonderful glimpse into Chinese-American culture, and gently shares the joy of family traditions and close family relationships.
