Friday evening at their annual Beehive Dinner, the Children’s Literature Association of Utah announced the winners of the 2012 Beehive Children’s Book Awards, as selected from nominees by children and children literature fans throughout Utah.
2012 Beehive Book Award Winners:
- Picture Book: Shark vs. Train | Written by Chris Barton, Illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld
- Children’s Fiction: Out of My Mind | Written by Sharon Draper
- Informational: Candy Bomber: The Story of the Berlin Airlift’s “Chocolate Pilot” | Written by Michael O. Tunnell
- Poetry: The Dancing Pancake | Written by Eileen Spinelli, Illustrated by Joanne Lew-Vriethoff
- Young Adult Fiction: Dragonfly | Written by Julia Golding
