littleelliotbigcityWritten and Illustrated by Mike Curato

Little Elliot was an elephant, a bit different from other elephants. He was small and white with pink and blue dots. He lived in an apartment in the city. He had to be very careful in the city, he could get stepped on. He loved cupcakes but he could never buy any because he could not get anyone to notice him. One day he met a mouse who needed his help reaching for some food. Elliot realized that there was someone who had it harder than he did. The next day Elliot and the mouse went to the bakery and the mouse helped him buy a cupcake. Elliot got his cupcake and something else, a friend.

Cute story about friendship and helping others. Grades K-2 would enjoy this book.
