ninjaWritten and Illustrated by Arree Chung

Arree Chung has done an excellent job of being in the mind of a young child. There is also quite a bit of humor in the illustrations and writing. This is an excellent book for children imagining an adventure as a ninja. This particular ninja’s adventure is to make a sneak attack and then to try to capture some milk and cookies – a logical first mission.

This might be a child’s first experience with a graphic novel. As such it is important to share how to read from one box to another. This might be a good novel to share with a class to learn how to read this format.

Some of the details in the book really add to the imagination part of the story. When the Ninja is showing courage there is a dragon in the background to help him face the danger.

I highly recommend this book for its humor, story line, great graphics, and details. I hope there will be more from Arree Chung soon.
