By Sam Fisher
When Morton Clay and his family move to the town of Dimvale, little did they know the old house they will live in belonged to the famous John King, author and illustrator of Scare Scape, the creepiest comic book series. When the kids find a gargoyle half buried in the yard, they each make a wish and now their lives and the whole town of Dimvale are turned upside down in a horror nightmare. Things keep getting darker and scarier as the kids race to try and figure out how to undo their wishes and save themselves and the town. Can they trust the new friends they have made or the teachers at the school? There is plenty of mystery, menacing monsters and humor along with black and white illustrations of the creepy monsters found within the pages of Scare Scape. If you like dark, scary, oozy stories this series in just right for you. The second book, The Midnight Door, picks up right where the first book leaves off. The colorful cover says, “Warning: Monsters Inside!” You just might want to leave the lights on when you read!!
