Return to Augie Hobble

Return to Augie HobbleWritten by Lane Smith

The fact that this book was written by Lane Smith is what interested me in reading it. Lane Smith is known for his clever, quirky and humorous picture books. This story follows his style. I enjoyed the setting of the story, a not-so-successful fairy tale theme park. The main character Augie is the son of the owner and works at the park. He has failed his creative arts project and is working on redoing it. Throughout the story Augie writes mini stories and works on other ideas for his project. I really enjoyed those. I enjoyed the uniqueness of this story, but it felt like the story had too much going on.
