Michelangelo’s David and How He Came to Be
Written by Jane Sutcliffe, Illustrated by John Shelley
Michelangelo was a true genius in art and other fields. In this book the author tells, through story form, how the statue “David” was created. It is simple but informative. My favorite part was the “Author’s Note” on the last page. It tells what happened to the statue after years on standing outside in a public square, quite interesting. There is one large view of the statues bare back, but it is not offensive.
