Haggis and Tank are dogs that like to have adventures together. In this book, they pretend to be pirates. The pictures are delightful and the setup is clever– half graphic novel/half standard chapter book. Throughout this book various homonyms are highlighted, such as: “eye”, “I”, and “aye.” Unfortunately the story itself is rather boring and doesn’t match the illustrations. Could be useful for students who need help with grammar and language art skills.
