Fairy Animals of Misty Wood, #4
Written by Lily Small
I really liked the entire series of Fairy Animals of Misty Wood. I think the idea of the books is a fun, new one. I think because of the title and cover, it’s going to appeal mostly to girls, but I don’t see any reason that boys shouldn’t pick it up as well.
I think that the idea of having no human characters in the series is a good idea, because it gets kids thinking about what else could happen in the world.
The only downside to this series is there are currently only 4 books and they are too short. In the first two books, it seemed like the author had to hurry to get to the point of the story so it could end within a certain number of pages. The last two seemed to flow much better and didn’t seem like it was such a rush.
I’d recommend it for grades 1-3, but if there was a kid on a lower reading level in upper grades, they might really like this series as well.
