Written by Fran Manushkin, Illustrated by Lauren Tobia
This book has two purposes: to teach children about skin, and about being happy with ourselves and each other. No matter the color of our skin, its job is the same for everyone – “it keeps the outsides out and your insides in.” Skin doesn’t just differ in color. We have freckles, birthmarks, and dimples to make the human race a beautiful bouquet. This is a sweet book with a great message.
