In the second book of the Mark of the Thief series, Nic’s grandfather teaches him how to use the magic within himself instead of relying on the magic from Caesar’s gold. He also finds a second magical item, Mar’s bracelet. The guardian of the bracelet is the wolf. I liked that the wolf was a wise guide and not an enemy. Nic also finds out more about his family. I really like this series and look forward to the next book. (Thanks to my teenage son Joe for writing this review for me.)
