Little Red and the Very Hungry Lion

Written and Illustrated by Alex T. Smith

Little Red is off to visit her Auntie across the African Savannah. Her Auntie had called and has spots all over and needed medicine to clear them up. So Little Red heads out with the medicine and donuts to see her Auntie. Along her way she meets up with the Very Hungry Lion, who asks her where she is going. At that point he plans to eat both Little Red and her Auntie, but Little Red is not fooled by the Very Hungry Lion. When Little Red sees the Very Hungry Lion in her Auntie’s clothes and in her bed, she launches into action.

This is a delightful book with beautiful pictures. It would be a great read aloud, as well as an early reader for young ones.
