Hello, Mr. Dodo!

Written and Illustrated by Nicholas John Frith

Martha is cuckoo for birds and she knows them all. One day she meets a dodo and can’t believe her eyes—a dodo! And they are extinct! They become fast friends, having lots of fun together and sharing, especially eating donuts. When she accidentally lets it slip to the postman about her friend, she realizes her mistake as the whole town shows up at her door to see the dodo. How will Martha protect her dodo? Will she have to say good-bye? Find out by reading Hello, Mr. Dodo!, a marvelous and playful story about friendship. The bright and colorful illustrations are reminiscent of classic stories from the past such as Marjorie Flask’s Angus books and DuBose Heyward’s The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes. They are beautifully retro. I really loved this book.
