The Day the President Was Shot

Written by Bill O’Reilly

In March 1981, 2 months into his presidency, Ronald Reagan was shot at a speaking engagement. In this book, O’Reilly discusses how Reagan survived, the aftermath, as well as how Reagan was forever changed by the ordeal. O’Reilly’s book has a great layout that is easy to follow and understand. Using photos, primary sources, and historical information, O’Reily paints a detailed, complex, well-written point of view for young readers. This is a great addition to any nonfiction collection. Included are a timeline, source notes, further reading information, bibliography, and index for use with common core standards.
