Felix was 3 when it happened. His Dad was watching him at the lab. He was working on an experiment with spares. A crystal was to pass into the 4th dimension, but something went wrong. Felix was fused with an Alien call Zyx. Felix has 29 days until the procedure to separate Zyx and himself. He might even die; they give him a 1 in 5 chance of coming back. Zyx writes to Felix like a computer and has to type using Felix’s fingers. Thing that Felix has to deal with: a bully, feelings for a friend named Hector, his Grandy is a gender fluid grandparent, his sister is a piano genius, and his Mother is dating a guy who wants to manage Felix because he thinks he is a chess genius, but really it Zyx. He has been told not to tell anyone what is wrong with him. He runs away, taking a train to Portland, Maine and a group of nice kids get him back on a bus to go back home. He is met with his friend Hector and on the walk home he tells him about Zyx. His family goes on a mini trip to listen to Jazz music at the request of Felix and Zyx. You will need to read the book to find out about what happens on ZERO DAY.
