Raffie on the Run

Written by Jaqueline Resnick, Pictures by Joe Sutphin

Raffie, the rat, lives in the subway with his family when his little brother is ratnapped. The rest of the book is Raffie’s adventures on his way to find his brother, Oggie, and take him home. It is easy to want Raffie to succeed in his mission, especially when he makes unusual friends along the way. His new friends help in unpredictable ways and we come to love them as much as we love Raffie. one of my favorite things about this book is how Raffie learns common animal-related phrases and that these same phrases are used for chapter headings. The art makes the book even better. I am excited to share this with the kids in the library!
